"Slow-moving 'silent quakes' being tracked by UW seismologists"

Source Slow-moving 'silent quakes' being tracked by UW seismologists

There are these 'Silent Earthquakes' that are occurring under the Olympic Peninsula. They are predictable and have occur every 15 months and have been occurring every 15 months since 2002. They say that this could trigger a magnitude 9 Earthquake! "the slow slip events may be adding stress to the fault zone and bring the world's worst kind of earthquake to our part of the country."

What really seems odd is the amount of volcanic activity from the area

However in spite of the activity I think there is nothing to worry about. When there are tremors, you would expect things like this to happen so it shouldn't be too alarming.

The thought of all of these tremors that we cant feel fascinates me because there is a lot going on under our feet that we don't even think about, and all of these active volcanoes around the world really freaks me out! I mean they have to blow one of these days!!!!
